About these terms

These terms apply when you use 23audio.com, join the 23audio beta programme, or buy a 23audio plugin. By doing any of those, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or our software.

23audio is a trading name. Our full business details are in the Privacy Policy. You can contact us at hello@23audio.com.

Using this website

  • You're welcome to browse the site, share links to it, and download anything we offer for download here.
  • Please don't try to break it, overload it, get into parts of it you're not meant to, or use it to send spam or anything unlawful.
  • We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or online. Product details, including features and system requirements, may change before release.
  • Links to other websites are there for convenience. We're not responsible for what's on them.

Our content

The 23audio name and logo, and the words, images, audio, video and software on this site, belong to 23audio or the people who licensed them to us. You can't copy, republish or sell them without our permission, except where the law allows (for example, quoting a short passage in a review).

The beta programme

Joining the beta is free and optional. If we invite you to test a plugin:

  • Beta software is unfinished. It may have bugs, crash, or behave unexpectedly, and features may change or be removed. Keep backups of your projects and don't rely on beta software for work you can't afford to redo.
  • It's for you only. Please don't share beta downloads or beta licences with anyone else, or post them online.
  • Beta licences are temporary. They may stop working when the beta ends or when a newer beta replaces them, and we can withdraw them at any time.
  • Your feedback helps shape the plugins. By sending us feedback, bug reports or suggestions, you agree that we can use them to improve our products, without payment or credit.
  • You can leave the beta at any time by emailing beta@23audio.com.

Buying plugins

When 23audio plugins go on sale, orders will be handled by our online reseller, Paddle.com, which acts as the merchant of record. That means Paddle sells the plugin to you, takes your payment, handles VAT and sales tax, issues your receipt, and deals with payment questions and refunds under its own buyer terms, which you'll see at checkout.

Your right to use the plugin comes from our Licence Agreement (EULA). When you buy a plugin, you're buying a licence to use it under that agreement, not the software itself.

Refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.

Our responsibility to you

  • If you're a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to digital content that is faulty or not as described. Nothing in these terms affects those rights. For information about them, contact Citizens Advice.
  • We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss or damage that isn't foreseeable.
  • If our software damages a device or other digital content belonging to you because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we'll either repair the damage or pay you fair compensation. We won't be liable if you could have avoided the damage by following our advice, for example to install an update or keep backups.
  • If you use our software in a business, we have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when plugins go on sale or the law changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The version that applies to a purchase is the one in place when you bought.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or in Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there. If something goes wrong, please contact us first at hello@23audio.com. Most problems are quickest to sort out that way.
